I simply couldn’t resist it. Writing a few words about the sneaky landgrab on my local facebook group, it didn’t take long before it kicked off bigtime. The main guy that commented admitted it was him and that he had ‘reclaimed’ unused land in another area of town and made it look much better. He provided a few pics and yes indeed it did. Nice bit of fencing, a locked gate with a sign on it and a caravan peeping over the top. He seemed quite convinced that he was doing the area a favour. Anyway a few more dug their heels in about being accused of drowning puppies and such and that they hadn’t been the ones felling trees in the middle of the night. The original guy said the dog was guarding their equipment and he was sorry if he’d upset anyone, that they were friendly people and to come and have a chat. Fair do’s I wrote, I appreciate your comments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As expected a couple of hours later a couple of guys were threatening to find where I live from my ISP blah blah and how it was laughable I was posting anonymously. Threats then. Who would have thought it? The main guy’s profile picture has him holding a rifle. You kinda know when to retreat gracefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
…and isn’t that the issue here? not being able to say or do anything against the people that know all the ins and outs, the loopholes…and the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyway as we could have predicted this young guy has been up and down my road a few times this week on his horse and cart. To be fair I now realise that this is massively better than cretinous young men in cars driving at speeds that you can only hope takes them straight to a brick wall. The encampment this morning had the Doberman and an Akita to keep it company. Both loose and barking. I’m pretty blind these days and a little further on we came upon a horse tethered to the bright yellow handles of the cart. He\/she was so quiet even the kids didn’t notice. I wanted to say hello but couldn’t quite reach this beautiful quiet animal. Apparently there are war horses buried down there. I’m hoping so. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
