I was going to write about the latest allah inspired atrocity in Australia but my blood pressure is already high enough today so I shall write instead about The Silence of the Lambs. The film that is, that popped up on my Netflix when I opened it to accompany the eating of my tea. It was tea because it was about 5pm ish and not later when it’s possibly dinner at your house. I don’t do Sunday dinner either even if that is generally about 3pm because as I live on my own apart from the furry kids I can eat what and when I bloody well like. So I generally watch a bit of Netflix or maybe a paranormal\/true crime video on YouTube on my pc as the tv is still sat unused in the bedroom but it looks nice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I remember reading the book in one sitting apart from the last couple of chapters as it was nearing 5am. It creeped me out massively and you can never beat a book but the film was indeed excellent. I ended up engrossed enough to watch again tonight and it was still a brilliant film but wow it seemed dated. Thirty-four years dated to be precise. I was 28 how can that even be possible? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Computers weren’t that prolific then at least in the UK and mobile phones were a good few years off. The part where Clarisse stands in a serial killer’s kitchen and asks to use his phone is probably going to cause incredulity in today’s youth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I want the youth of today to watch it so they can see how far we’ve come. We let things that look like Buffalo Bill into women’s public changing rooms and prisons now. We even let them fit bras in good old M&S. I want them to have the earworm of Goodbye Horses everytime they hear a tranny getting a little too demanding of their rights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I myself will be singing it in my head for the foreseeable but then I’ve always been a bit weird.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
