I’m tired of tomatoes
and hoping for some sun.
I want the wind and the rain to come.
Falling leaves and conkers, beanie hats and jumpers,
Frigid air and toes that are numb
in my wellies.
I want to hibernate.
I want to shut the windows
and draw the curtains tightly.
Shut out the noise of boys toys:
Souped up car and strimmer and still saw.
Batten myself down away from the angry maw
of incessant Summer noise.
I want to hibernate.
I want to make soups and stews and ginger tea.
Paint and create and be me
In my peaceful and quiet and people free hobbit home.
I want the world to go away
Shut the fuck up and stay that way
Give me silence any day.
I’m off to hibernate.
