A Quiet Riot With Words & Art

The Ashley Madison world…

HonestInk,

of duplicity. A dream come true.

I remember being highly amused in in 2015 when the news broke of the Ashley Madison hack. A massive data dump of profile information and details from an online dating site. But not just any little Plenty Of Fish dating site full of Nigerian catfish fresh out of an African scam school.

Nopey nope, nope it’s a nice expensive, super secure dating site specifically for adulterers. Apparently having an affair can make things right back at home. It’s just a little bit of fun. The site was doing the public a massive favour.

Safe and discreet sex.

What can possibly go wrong?

Watching Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal on Netflix was a feminist/modern/any woman’s dream/nightmare depending on where you’re at in the relationship ……

Noel something or other, the bloke who took Ashley Madison to it’s glorious heights with god knows how many millions in subscribers and $$$$ had the full support of his wife. She was even on the advertisements. They appeared on talk shows together talking about their own wonderful monogamous marriage. She really should have at the very least stabbed him in the eye with a skewer full of barbecued pigs offal when his emails got leaked. He’d been hiring double sessions of prostitutes since forever as well as plenty of other unsavoury sexual practices.

Fucking hell how would you face the school run again?

‘The Christian family’ Netflix found were nothing but hilarious. A youtube/social media Vlogger, She forgave him blah blah blah. He’d cheated on her consistently with prostitutes and massage parlours because his life felt even more stressed when he had to take responsibility for their new baby and bills and stuff he’d joined Ashley Madison. Oh bless.

Netflix also found the one that killed himself when it all came out. I felt sorry for his wife but she was all for blaming Ashley Madison on finding him out and not on her philanderer husband.

Anyway several years later and the site is still going strong even though it’s now been shown that most of the female ‘clients’ are bots. As always there is a recurring theme here somewhere.

I just can never quite put my finger on it…
