This year I will hit 60 and surprisingly I don’t mind. I feel I have enough life experience of both good and bad behind me to thoroughly enjoy the life I have left
Cancer upended my life but also helped me create a much better one and I feel thankful for many, many things. Life threatening illnesses change your views on life as so many people are finding out these days. Sadly it’s becoming more common than not.
I came out of it feeling that I had to hone my days into achieving something useful if only to me.
Everyday I ensure that I create something. Be it art on canvas, in a journal or on my computer. Cooking something, tending to my tiny garden or writing. I found out how important close family are, real family that is and where my priorities lie. Shedding the rest was like peeling an onion an eye stinging layer at a time but infinitely calming and restorative in the long run.
This blog allows me to write about what matters to me. Thank you for reading.
